Where in Madison am I today? Well, technically, I’m here most days of the week (laughs). That’s because I’m at KOSA Spa, one of the few ayurvedic destinations in Wisconsin, where I work as an esthetician!
Kosa Magic
I first came across Kosa when I was looking for spas around the Madison area to work with. I felt connected to Kosa’s values and wanted to be part of the team. However, I was still in school, studying to become an esthetician.
Before graduation, I met with Kosa’s creator, Shilpa Sankaran. I felt an instant understanding with my views not just as a practitioner, but as a mother, and a woman. Luckily, I started at Kosa as an esthetician!
Since joining the Kosa team, I’ve learned what it means to take care of myself again. Self care and self re-discovery is exactly what I needed after having my little one. Kosa has given me that gift, along with the gift of its people. I find joy in what I do and it’s a blessing to do it alongside wonderful individuals who’ve made such an impact on me (and continue to).
Kosa truly is a magical place that I hope you have the opportunity to experience.
My Visit
As soon as I open the doors to Kosa, I’m welcomed with warm smiles by the Kosa staff. After checking in, I’m taken to the locker room to prepare for my service. I’m provided with slippers, towels, a robe, and just about everything you need for a shower! Kosa furnishes the locker room with their body care products ranging from deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion. Amazing (and convenient), right?!
Once I’m finished using the locker room, I step out into the hallway where I’m greeted by a spa host with CCF tea, and taken to the sanctuary lounge where there are more teas and snacks. I’m also offered a warm neck wrap, which who doesn’t love? I relax in the sanctuary before my service by meditating and simply enjoying the space.

Spa Offerings
There are many services that Kosa offers such as facials, shirodharas, abhyangas, a body scrub/wrap, and massages. I invite you to view the full list of services here!
Services that I’ve received thus far include; Inner Glow Facial, Kansa Facial, Kosa Abhyanga, Hot River Stone Massage, Indian Head Massage, Custom Massage, Kiss the Earth Foot & Back Scrub, Seasonal Wrap Scrub, Classic Abhyanga, Shirodhara, and an Ayurvedic Consultation. All offerings are beautifully created and I know that each therapist gives their all with every service.
Not to mention, I love to add in a Personal Retreat either before my service or afterwards. This includes private access to Kosa’s hot stone sauna, cold therapy, and hydrotherapy steam room. There are many benefits to steam and sauna such as calming the body and mind, improving circulation, removing toxins, and lowering blood pressure.

Kosa Kitchen
Kosa offers nourishment options from their Kitchen as well! You have the opportunity to taste the delicious khichdi made with rice, vegetables, and dal (lentils). Not only does it please your body, it pleases your soul. The Kosa Kitchen serves Ashwagandha Golden Milk as well as Masala Chai. Yum!
