A Letter To My Mother and Daughter

There were so many things I simply couldn’t understand until you came along.

As I carry you inside me, I can only think of how it was for my mom. Although I can’t remember what it was like inside the womb, I can remember what it’s been like outside of it. My mom bathed me, dressed me, fed me, heard me, and loved me. There isn’t a thing she wouldn’t do for me. She’s the strongest woman I know and I’m so blessed that you’ll get to meet her. Not only that, you have time to spend with her. Who I am today is because of her and who I will be is because of you.

With you, I can remember it all. I’ve cherished every moment of it so far. I remember hearing your heartbeat for the first time. You were so tiny then. I remember feeling your kick for the first time. They’ve grown stronger since. There will be much more to remember when you’re here. There isn’t a thing I wouldn’t do for you.

This journey hasn’t been the easiest mentally or physically, but for you, I know it’s worth it. Now I know what a mother’s love is like and what seemed to be blurry back then became clear. Thank you, mom, for loving me through all the good and the bad. Thank you for loving me as I am. Thank you for teaching me what I can pass down to my daughter. I hope she looks at me the way I look at you.

Hi there – I’m Angela! I’m so glad you’re here. Continue reading and let me know what you think!
