The Ace of Diamonds: The Story of My Tattoo & The Angel Numbers 222

Five years ago, the day after my grandfather’s birthday, March 4th, I got a tattoo of the ace of diamonds on my right wrist. I originally wanted the tattoo on the third of March, but the tattoo shop I went to was closed that day (sob). Here’s the meaning behind my tattoo.

Let’s rewind back to the summer of 2018, right before my freshman year of college. I was away for two separate summer programs, back to back, for two weeks. While I was away, my grandpa had a stroke. Thankfully he recovered and I’m happy he’s still here today!

We’d always play card games growing up. That’s exactly what we did when I returned from my summer programs. This time I asked what my grandpa’s favorite card is. He said the ace of diamonds. After he picked his favorite card, he went to the restroom. I was shuffling the cards and each time I grabbed the stack, the bottom card was the ace of diamonds. Crazy, right?

Since then, whenever I asked myself a question, I’d shuffle a deck and find that I’d come across the ace of diamonds. For instance, I wasn’t quite looking for a relationship when my now partner and I were in that early, not dating, but interested stage. I asked myself, “Should I pursue this?” Then, I came across the ace of diamonds. Now we’re five years into our relationship with a daughter who’s 22 months old! (Of course I didn’t make decisions based only upon the ace of diamonds)

The ace of diamonds holds a tremendous amount of meaning to me. It reassures me in times of doubt. However, it didn’t happen once. I was at my partner’s parents’ for Christmas and it’d been a while since I shuffled a deck. I was asking myself the question, “Am I in the right place right now? Is this where I’m supposed to be?”

These were the questions I’d been asking for months, with having just become a real estate agent and certified meditation and mindfulness teacher. I doubted myself. Could I really do it all? As I shuffled the deck, I kept seeing the number 2. I pulled that number three times. I felt worried. Maybe I’m not in the right spot. Seeing the number 2, instead of my ace, wasn’t reassuring at all.

Moments after (literally a few minutes), I received a necklace from my brother-in-law’s girlfriend, a really great friend of mine, and can you guess what it was? A necklace with the Angel numbers, 222! The message I read as soon as I opened the box read something like, “You are exactly where you’re meant to be.” Remember how I was just asking myself if I was in the right place? Goosebumps!

I’ve been wearing the necklace since and have gotten many compliments on it. I have my great friend, Kaylani, to thank. Before telling her the story about my shuffling the deck, she explained to me that the necklace really spoke to her in relation to me. I think the stars really aligned there. I’m forever grateful for Kaylani and our connection.

Will I get more tattoos? Most likely. I have some in mind. It’s a matter of getting them done! What’s the story behind your tattoo? What will you get done next?
