Baby Shower
My parents hosted our baby shower while I was 34 weeks pregnant. That was the perfect time! It was before I was too tired or big to do anything. I was looking forward to my baby shower for months. I enjoyed celebrating the life of our firstborn with loved ones.
Our baby shower was the weekend of Mother’s Day, which made it all feel even sweeter. Becoming a mother was sinking in and it was amazing to share this day with other parents as well. I couldn’t believe my baby was arriving soon and that I was going to be a mom!

Symptoms
Nesting was my favorite thing to do! I was surprised with the amount of energy I had. I loved getting things set up for my baby’s arrival. I knew that I wouldn’t have as much time if I decided to get things ready later. Not to mention, I would be too tired!
My bump was starting to get in the way of doing things like dishes or driving. I had to find new ways to do things and I stopped driving entirely. Furthermore, I let others take over tasks for me. I did what I could for most of this trimester.
I started to swell when I was about 28 weeks pregnant. My feet would swell if I walked or stood too much or if I ate salty foods. To ease the swelling, I elevated my feet as much as I could and placed a cold pack on my feet frequently. I found that foot baths with epsom salt worked as well. As for the rest of my body, massages worked best!
Daily Life
Like my first trimester, I was tired for most of my days. Therefore, I napped often. When I wasn’t napping, I continued to do what I did during the second trimester. I focused on my baby and I. I prepared for her arrival by getting things ready and by preparing my mind and body. I watched many birth related videos like what to expect, breathing techniques, newborn routines, and more. Learning about birth made me feel less anxious about the process.
I cherished the last few months of being pregnant. I wondered what it would be like with a baby and without a bump. I had forgotten what it was like before pregnancy. I was saying goodbye to a different version of myself and entering a new chapter in my life.
We moved while I was 36 weeks pregnant. Moving while pregnant wasn’t easy since I couldn’t carry much. Luckily, I was in nesting mode so that helped a lot with unpacking! I loved organizing our new home while setting things up for our baby. However, I was anxious that we wouldn’t be ready for our baby in case she came early. That was no problem! We were ready for her arrival!
